I love the smell of cinnamon. Although I have been vegan for more a decade I am still entranced by the smell of cinnamon wafting through the foodcourt of many malls. It gives me a warm, happy feeling.
On a very cold winter evening I decided to whip up a vegan version to share with my colleagues-partly to show them how delicous being vegan can be and how little you have to give up to live a life free of animal products.
I am a regular reader of the Bittersweet blog written by the author of My Sweet Vegan a beautiful baking book. Hannah is a true inspiration-she wrote and photographed this book before the age of nineteen. The photographs induce drooling and grocery shopping!
I found the cinnamon bun
recipe on her website. It was easy to pull together and I really enjoyed kneeding the dough and the intoxicating smell that overtook my kitchen.
These lovely rolls were soft, spicy and very sweet. My friends happily devoured them in minutes.
