It’s here! Vegan MoFo 2012. Let the onslaught of recipe awesomeness begin.
I’ve have participated in Vegan MoFo for the past few years, and like a woman with a toddler, somehow I have forgotten the sleepless nights, the constant mess and the anxiety of not being able to live up to my commitment…so, I’m ready to do it all again.
This year I actually came up with a theme. Nothing as fantastic as pairing my daily meals with horror films but something a little more me.
Over decades of being vegan, I’ve often heard “well, if you cooked for me I would be vegan too”. Without creating a massive food distribution empire, I knew I could never deliver on that request. Instead, for the month of October, I’m opening a fantasy vegan B&B and you will all be my guests.
Each day I will share the recipes I would use to entice you back year after year.
This week, we’re starting with breakfast. Which makes sense because at my B&B it is all about starting the day right, with a whole lot of happy.
Could you really keep from smiling as I served this to you? You’d still be curled up in bed. I’d bring a book, an extra cozy blanket and a steamy cup of tea or coffee. Plus I’d say a lot of nice things like, “wow, you’re looking so refreshed. The vegan food really agrees with you. You’re absolutely glowing this morning”.
For you, I’d serve the crepes warm from my dehydrator (yes, that was the gentle hum you heard last night while you were falling asleep). The banana ice cream is cold but the hot chocolate drizzle balances it all out.
