Here we are, week three of the Frappuccino festivities!

We’ve been sipping on Java Chip and Caramel Brulée blends, but today I have something even more refreshing, some icy peppermint mocha magic.

The recipe is simple, just a chocolately frapp with a splash of peppermint extract. I even added a few drips to the coconut whipped cream just to punch up the peppermint. But…I’m really into the classic chocolate-mint combination, so add based on your own devotion-level.

Frappuccino Fridays: Peppermint Mocha

  • Serves 2
  • For the coconut whipped cream:
  • 1 (13.5oz.) can full-fat coconut milk, refrigerated overnight
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons agave nectar or other sweetener
  • splash of peppermint extract
  • For the frappuccino:
  • 1 cup strong coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 2 tablespoons cashew butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp of peppermint extract
  • 1 oz dark chocolate
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 frozen bananas, chopped (into about ice cube sized chunks)

  1. For the coconut whipped cream, scoop the cream from the top of the can of coconut milk, reserving the coconut water at the bottom of the can for other uses.
  2. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer with the whisk attachment, whip the coconut cream until smooth and fluffy. Add sweetener and peppermint extract and continue to whip until incorporated. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. For the frappuccino, blend the frappuccino ingredients, except the bananas, together until well combined. Add the bananas and blend into a smooth, thick shake.
  4. To serve, divide the frappuccino between 2 tall glasses and top with coconut whipped cream. Serve immediately.

Nicole and I really hope you’re enjoying these seasonal treats. I know I’ve been looking forward to capping off each week with a frosty Frappuccino. Cheers!

I don’t even like coffee but these frappes are so beautiful I’m really tempted to try them! Maybe I’d like them because they’re sweet and creamy, I guess the coffee flavour isn’t intense?

You can certainly leave the coffee out and just make a chocolate mint frapp. Just adjust the amount of liquid by upping the water.

I’m loving Frap Fridays! I haven’t made one yet as my kitchen is in boxes, but I’m saving every single recipe! These are incredible!

Awesome. I’m personally a Fresh almond java fan, especially after a sweaty morning workout. (Yes, I make them at home.) For this one, I would use fresh peppermint leaves too – anyone who has them, like me, has plenty to spare!
